Created in 1994, The Canada-Manitoba Infrastructure Secretariat (CMIS) is responsible for administering over $1.7 billion in matching federal, provincial and local contributions under various funding programs across the province.
OUR AIM IS TO:
minimize overlap and duplication in program delivery;
improve federal-provincial co-operation; and
provide single-window programs to local government & community organizations
On March 27, 2014, Canada launched the program details of the New Building Canada Fund (NBCF). This fund consists of the following three programs with different funding request processes, which are outlined below:
- National Infrastructure Component
- Provincial-Territorial Infrastructure Component – National and Regional Projects
- Provincial-Territorial Infrastructure Component– Small Communities Fund The $4-billion National Infrastructure Component (NIC) supports projects of national significance, that have broad public benefits, and that contribute to Canada’s long-term economic growth and prosperity.
